Fluke 87V Industrial Multimeter

Product overview: Fluke 87V Industrial Multimeter

The Fluke 87V Industrial Multimeter provides the resolution and accuracy to efficiently troubleshoot motor drives, plant automation, power distribution, and electromechanical equipment – even in loud, high-energy, and high-altitude locations. The 87V is designed so you can work more efficiently.

  • Easy-access door for fast battery changes without breaking the calibration seal
  • Analog bar graph for fast changing or unstable signals
  • Large digit display with bright, two-level backlight for easier reading in low light
  • Touch Hold keeps readings on display even after removing probes

The 87V lets you identify complex electrical problems fast. It supports accurate measurements on VFDs using a low-pass filter. The meter also captures intermittents as fast as 250 µS using Peak Capture. High-frequency, high-energy noise generated by large drive systems is blocked from your measurements with specially designed shielding.

Built to highest safety standards

All the inputs in the 87V are updated to the third edition of the EN 61010-1 to CAT III 1000 V and CAT IV 600 V. The meter is designed to withstand spikes of more than 8000 V. You also benefit from an audible Input Alert warning if the test leads are placed in the incorrect input jacks for the measurement being made.

Removable holster with built in test lead and probe storage for convenience

The 87V has a removeable holster that also holds a test probe during testing for easier viewing. Relative mode lets you remove test lead resistance, improving accuracy of low-resistance measurements. To make your life even easier, the 87V fits into an optional magnetic hanger for easy set-up and viewing while freeing your hands for other tasks.

Additional measurement features

The Fluke 87V is designed and built in the U.S. and comes with a lifetime warranty.

Fluke Networks MS2-KIT MicroScanner™ Cable Verifier Kit

Product overview: Fluke Networks MicroScanner™ Cable Verifier Kit

The MicroScanner2 Cable Verifier helps find common errors quickly, displaying results from what were four different test modes all at once on its oversized, backlit LCD display: graphical wire map, pair lengths, distance to fault, cable ID, and far-end device. With the included IntelliTone™ Pro 200 probe, it locates and traces virtually any cable or wire pair via digital and analog toning. The MicroScanner2’s integrated RJ11, RJ45, and coax test ports support virtually any type of low-voltage cable testing, with no need for awkward adapters. The end result is reduced test time and technician error — which makes high-quality installations more efficient and troubleshooting easier.
Specifications apply at 23 °C (73 °F), unless otherwise noted.

Length test Range: 460 m (1500 ft)
Resolution: 0.3 m (1 ft)
Typical accuracy: ± 4% or 0.6 m (2 ft) whichever is greater. NVP uncertainty is an additional error.
Calibration: User-settable NVP for twisted pair and coax (MicroScanner2). Can determine actual NVP with known length of cable.
Wiremap test Detects single-wire faults, shorts, miswires, split pairs, and up to seven far-end adapter IDs. The wiremap is drawn with proportional length to visually indicate the approximate location of faults.
Ethernet port detection MicroScanner2: Detects the advertised speed of 802.3 Ethernet ports with speeds of 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 1 Gbps.
Tone generator Supports toning and cable mapping with a Fluke Networks digital IntelliTone™ probe. Generates four tones compatible with typical analog probes. SmartTone™ feature gives positive identification of cables in bundles when using an IntelliTone or an analog probe.

Now you can measure voltage without test leads. Be safer, faster, more efficient. And be everywhere, testing where it used to be impossible

Measure voltage … without test leads

FieldSense technology lets you slide the open fork over a conductor and see the voltage level.1

  • Be safer: Measure voltage to 1000 V ac through the open fork, without test leads.
  • Be faster: No need to open covers or remove wire nuts.
  • Be more efficient: Simultaneously measure voltage and current.
  • Be everywhere: 17.8 mm open fork is widest in the industry; measure up to 200 A on 4/0 wires (120 mm2).

Measure voltage up to 1000 V ac through the open fork, without test lead contact to live voltage.  Without opening covers or removing wire nuts. On wires up to AWG 4/0 (120 mm2), carrying as much as 200 A. It will change your job. Safer. Faster. Easier.

Product Highlights

  • FieldSense technology for ac voltage, current and frequency measurement without making electrical contact to live voltage
  • Simultaneous voltage and current display – shows all power supply measurements at a glance for efficient trouble shooting
  • 1 to 1000 V ac or dc (T6-1000)
  • 0.1 to 200 A ac
  • True-rms voltage and current
  • Resistance 1 Ω to 100 kΩ
  • Frequency measurement 45 Hz to 66 Hz
  • Works with wires up to AWG 4/0 (120 mm2) with a 17.8 mm jaw opening

  • Accepts optional Fluke TPAK Magnetic Meter Hanger for convenient operation
  • Standard two-year warranty; extendable to 4 years through product registration within 45 days of purchase*

Voltage measurement requires capacitive path to ground, provided through user in most applications. Ground connection via test lead may be required in some situations. * Register product online within 45 days of purchase to extend warranty to four years. See http://a.fluke.com/registration for details. Two-year additional warranty offer may be discontinued without notice
