The Hakko FM-205 Digital Desoldering Tool is very similar to the Hakko FM-204 except that it uses compressed air to generate the vacuum rather than an internal pump. This provides for slightly higher vacuum pressure, increased suction flow, and a lower station cost.

Hakko FR-870B 2‐Bank IR Preheater description:

The Hakko FR-870B is an updated replacement for the popular Hakko FR‐870 IR Preheater that includes an upgrade to use the new high efficiency carbon filament lamps that nearly eliminates the visible spectrum while maintaining a very high output in the infrared spectrum with minimal shadowing, allowing for a very even preheating of the PCB.

The Hakko FR-870B also includes an upgrade to use the new software features found in the FR‐872 4‐ Bank IR Preheater, allowing you to control the ramp rate at 1, 2, or 3 degrees Celsius per second when you are in one of the two thermocouple modes.

The Hakko FR-870B has 2 switchable zones for heating and still offers the same low profile and with a simple integrated PCB holder that is very easy to setup, automatic operation modes allowing for a 3‐ heating zone profile that can be programmed into the system, and a total of 10 profiles that can be stored for each automatic operation mode.

HAKKO FR-872 4-Bank IR Preheater provides a fast and efficient method of preheating large and small PCB assemblies while still on the workbench but in a very controlled fashion. This preheater uses a new high efficiency carbon filament IR heating lamp that nearly eliminates the visible spectrum while maintaining a very high output in the infrared spectrum with minimal shadowing, allowing for a very even preheating of the PCB.

The HAKKO FR-872 has the same operation as the smaller HAKKO FR-870 but has 4 switchable zones of preheating compared to just 2.and both manual and automatic modes of operation using either a thermocouple for closed-loop feedback of the PCB heating, or using power settings of the heaters.

A new feature that has been added for the HAKKO FR-872 is the Ramp Control. This new feature allows you to control the ramp rate of the PCB when using either of the thermocouple modes of temperature control. The feature allows you to select ramp rates of 1, 2, or 3 degrees Celsius per second. Settings of the preheater can be locked out using a password to prevent inadvertent changes that could affect the process.

As with the HAKKO FR-870, the new HAKKO FR-872 allows for automatic operation following a 3-heating zone profile that can be programmed into the system. A total of 10 profiles can be stored for each mode of operation, for a total of 20 possible profiles. The HAKKO FR-872 also integrates for start/stop operation to work in conjunction with the hot air rework profiles programmable into the HAKKO FM-206 or HAKKO FR-803B (integration requires an optional connection cable that is not included).

The Hakko FR-830 is a compact and low cost solution to preheating printed circuit boards. The design of the FR-830 delivers consistent heat to the bottom of printed circuit boards and is particularly beneficial when soldering lead-free assemblies.

The integrated self-resetting overheat protection, high pressure fan, and convex outlet reduces heat buildup and prevents blockage of the outlet, and the angled heater tube protects the heating element from damage caused by debris that may accidentally drop inside the heater opening.

Closed loop temperature control allows the output air temperature to be set anywhere between 150° – 300°C (302° – 572°) and an optional Extension Pipe (B3263) extends the airflow an additional 27mm (1.1 inch).

The FR-830 also has a port that allows it to be activated by an optional hand switch (B2763) or foot switch (B1649).
